Mysterious trains are common in American mythology. The Mystery Train and The Midnight Special are well-known, while old-time hobos spoke of the spectral train called The Westbound, because it takes good hobos into the sunset and thence to Heaven. In this way, the Westbound is "bound for glory," leaving me to wonder if Woody Guthrie knew the hobo legend.
