ArtistChapter 30 – The Name the Cottage Was Told to Forget, Part 1 – The Footsteps Above the Ceiling Create a realistic painterly fantasy storybook illustration, 4:3 landscape format. Use the uploaded character reference images strictly for Mara (CR-01a), Biblior (CR-02a), and Horologia (CR-11). Preserve their established faces, clothing, species/design, proportions and relative heights exactly. Mara is about 1.70 m tall, Biblior about 1.60 m. Keep all characters naturally scaled to one another. Scene: inside an ancient mysterious stone chamber deep within the impossible Cottage. Mara, Biblior and Horologia stand together looking upward in astonishment. A thin glowing golden outline has appeared in the solid stone ceiling and formed a small square wooden door with a brass handle. The ceiling door hangs open downward. Beyond this opening is NOT an attic and NOT a normal upper floor. Reveal an impossible wooden corridor suspended above the ceiling, rotated at an unnatural angle so its floor appears almost vertical from the characters' viewpoint. Gravity and architecture feel subtly wrong. Old framed portraits with blank faces line its walls, along with strange paintings of landscapes without houses and doors where people should be. Far down the impossible corridor stands an older mysterious wizard, partly illuminated by warm golden light. He has silver beginning at his temples, a worn long coat patched at the elbows, and a small black key hanging around his neck. He should appear human and intriguing, but distant enough that he does not dominate the scene. Mara stands closest beneath the opening, staring upward. Biblior raises his lantern to illuminate the impossible corridor. Horologia watches tensely, clearly recognizing that something is dangerously wrong. Atmosphere: ancient stone, drifting dust from the opening, warm lantern light below contrasted with eerie golden light above, deep shadows, magical architectural impossibility, suspense and wonder rather than horror. Cinematic depth, detailed textures, realistic painterly fantasy illustration, soft volumetric lighting. No extra characters, no duplicate Mara, no modern objects, no text inside the image, no distorted anatomy. A guy goes into a bar with his pet octopus and says "I bet $50 that no one here has a musical instrument that this octopus can't play." The people in the bar look around and someone fetches an old guitar. The octopus has a look, picks it up, tunes up the strings and starts playing the guitar. The octopus's owner pockets the fifty bucks. Next guy comes up with a trumpet, octopus takes the horn, loosens up the keys, licks its lips and starts playing a jazz solo. The guy hands over another fifty bucks to the octopus's owner. The bar owner has been watching all this and disappears out back, coming back in a few moments later with a set of bagpipes under his arm. He puts them on the bar and says to the guy and his octopus, "Now, if your octopus can play that I'll give you a hundred dollars." The octopus takes a look at the bagpipes, lifts it up, turns it over, has another look from another angle. Puzzled, the octopus's owner comes up and says "What are you fooling around for? Hurry up and play the damn thing!" The octopus says "Play it? If I can figure out how to get its pyjamas off I'm gonna make love to it!"
