Cody's Eye Cloud/Light Talking- Jesus Prophet, King, Priest-
Jesus is considered Prophet, Priest, and King (the munus triplex) because He fulfills all three anointed roles of the Old Testament to address human sin: as Prophet He reveals God's Word, as Priest He sacrifices Himself for atonement, and as King He rules and protects believers. He is the ultimate mediator who perfectly combines these offices to cure human ignorance, guilt, and corruption.
Jesus as Prophet (The Word of God).
Declares God's Will: As the final prophet, Jesus did not just speak the Word of God; He is the Word of God (John 1:1), revealing the Father perfectly.
Teaches and Enlightens: He instructs believers, illuminating their minds, and proclaims the way of salvation.
Reproaches Sin: Like Old Testament prophets, He calls for repentance and proclaims God’s truth.
Jesus as Priest (The Mediator)
Perfect Sacrifice: Instead of animal sacrifices, Jesus offered Himself as the ultimate sacrifice (Lamb of God) on the cross to satisfy divine justice and remove guilt.
Intercessor: He sits at the right hand of God, continuing to act as the High Priest who advocates for believers.
Reconciler: He bridges the gap between divinity and humanity, sanctifying believers.
Jesus as King (The Ruler)
Sovereign Authority: Jesus reigns over heaven and earth (Matthew 28:18), governing hearts and the Church by His Word and Spirit.
Defeats Enemies: He conquered sin, death, and the devil, breaking the captivity of sin.
Eternal Reign: He is the King of kings who will return to rule forever in the Kingdom of God.
In the Old Testament, these roles were separate, but Jesus combines them perfectly, representing the "triple cure" for humanity's spiritual condition.
Now do you get it, grin.
