Deuteronomy Chapter 14, a lesson profound,
On God's blessings, when His ways are found.
To follow His commands, and walk in His light,
Bringing joy and blessings, day and night.
God's people were called, to be set apart,
To avoid unclean things, with a willing heart.
To not eat forbidden food, or defile His name,
But honor Him always, with reverence and acclaim.
He gave them guidelines, for their daily diet,
To distinguish clean from unclean, in every rite.
To eat of animals, with hooves that are split,
And those that chew the cud, as He would permit.
He also commanded, to give tithes with joy,
To support the Levites, without any ploy.
To care for the poor, the widows, and the stranger,
Showing compassion and love, in every behavior.
For obedience brings blessings, from God above,
His favor and provision, a sign of His love.
He promises to bless, the work of their hand,
When they walk in His ways, and follow His command.
Deuteronomy Chapter 14, a reminder so clear,
To live a life of obedience, without any fear.
To honor God's commands, with hearts that are true,
And experience His blessings, forever anew.
