Laws of old, divinely decreed,
In Exodus, Chapter Twenty-Two indeed,
Guiding lives with justice pure,
A moral compass to endure.
A thief who sneaks to steal by night,
Must make things right, make it right.
If caught, he must repay fourfold,
To compensate the loss untold.
If livestock strays or perishes,
The owner's tears, the law cherishes,
The thief must pay, his debt is due,
As restitution, just and true.
A fire spreads, consuming all,
The guilty pays, he cannot stall,
For if he neglects the utmost care,
He bears the blame, his fault laid bare.
In disputes and quarrels abound,
Resolution, fairness must be found,
Before the judges, truth unveiled,
And peace and justice never failed.
So heed these words, oh reader dear,
From Exodus, Chapter Twenty-Two, loud and clear,
A timeless guide, a moral view,
For righteous living, pure and true.
