In Eden's glade, a serpent sly,
Approached with cunning, caught their eye,
He whispered lies, deceived with skill,
And Adam and Eve, with hearts to thrill.
He questioned God, sowed doubt and fear,
And tempted them, with words unclear,
They doubted God's command divine,
And reached for fruit, a forbidden sign.
With hearts enticed, they took a bite,
Their eyes were opened, they saw the light,
But not in glory, as they thought,
But in shame and guilt, they were caught.
They realized their naked state,
And hid in fear, consumed by fate,
They tried to cover up their shame,
But sin had entered, forever changed.
God, in His mercy, came to seek,
His fallen children, weak and meek,
He called them out, with gentle voice,
To face the consequences of their choice.
With heavy hearts, they faced the Lord,
Confessed their sin, with one accord,
God's judgment fell, yet hope remained,
As He pronounced a promise, unstrained.
A Savior, born of woman's seed,
Would come to crush the serpent's greed,
To reconcile, to heal the breach,
And offer mankind a way to reach.
In Genesis, the tale is told,
Of how the first man and woman bold,
Were tempted, fell, but found God's grace,
A story of humanity's embrace.
So let us learn, from their mistake,
To heed God's word, for His name's sake,
To choose obedience, not desire,
And walk with Him, in faith's attire.
