ArtistAn anthropomorphic fossa, a sleder, cat-like mammal with glossy brown fur, in a green shirt and green pants places a large block of salt on a post nearly as high as the fossa to create a salt lick. The salt lick is on a small clearing in a forest. The fossa stands on its hind paws and puts the block of salt on the post using its front paws. In doing so, the fossa stretches its body to its full length.
The Sisyfossa are the diligent wildlife managers of Purrsepolis. Their duties are varied and often exausting. Among them is the creation and maintenance of salt licks for the benefit of wild animals. For this, they place blocks of salt onto posts. The task is neverending, for air mositure and precipitation dissolve the salt. This creates a brine that flows down the post allowing animals to lick it. When the entire block is dissolved, the Sisyfossa must replenish them. A single block can weigh up to 10 kg.
