before modern acrylic accompany impasto pesto ... image done in absurdly frenetic absolutism
An oil painting with thick impasto texture depicts a white bowl filled with glossy green pesto sauce, with a silver spoon resting inside, angled toward the upper right. The bowl sits centrally on a canvas with a textured, abstract background featuring muted blues, greens, greys, and pinks. Swirls of bright yellow, orange, and blue paint accent the background, along with dimensional, glossy droplets of green and orange paint that appear to be splattered across the surface, giving a tactile, three-dimensional effect. The lighting creates highlights on the glossy surfaces of the paint and sauce, emphasizing its viscous texture.
