Last night, she made a getaway from my heart—sly, daring, swift. I could only catch a glimpse of a slipping shadow, the vanishing trail of her clothes, and the light scent of jasmine-spiked perfume rising into the warm air. My emptied heart lost the fresh surge of life her energy of vibrant, insatiable passion brought. The rhythm faltered, like in an empty house where only the idle wind occasionally bangs a door and the sound of her always-confident steps is gone. I know she will never come back, and the emptiness in my heart will only echo her name silently.
