An art inspired by Rosa Bonheur, of a Japanese macaque groming the hair of a its own kid on a tree of typical japanese forest
An oil painting depicts a mother macaque grooming her baby on a tree branch, with a misty forest in the background. The mother macaque sits on the left, with her body facing the viewer and her head tilted down towards the baby macaque. Her fur is a light brown-gray, and her face is red around the eyes and nose. Her hands are gently placed on the baby's head, appearing to groom it. The baby macaque sits on the right, facing slightly towards the viewer, with its head slightly turned to the left, looking up at its mother. Its fur is also light brown-gray, and its face has light brown skin with dark eyes. Both monkeys are sitting on a thick, gnarled tree branch that extends horizontally across the lower part of the painting. The background features a dense forest, with various shades of green and brown trees disappearing into a soft, light gray mist or fog that covers the distant mountains and tree line. The overall lighting is subdued, suggesting an overcast day or an early morning/late afternoon scene.
