Lam is an enigmatic entity and 1919 sketch by British occultist Aleister Crowley, famously depicted with a large egg-shaped head and small body, strongly resembling the modern "gray alien" archetype. Crowley claimed to have made contact with Lam around 1918 during the Amalantrah Working ritual in New York.
other depictions show Lam as a Yoda style character -
The Amalantrah Working & Origin
• The Ritual: Crowley and his partner Rody Miner channeled or encountered the entity during occult operations in New York City.
• The Name: "Lam" is a Tibetan word meaning "way" or "path," and its Hebrew gematria value is 71.
• The Portrait: Crowley sketched Lam in 1919, and it was later published as a frontispiece to his commentary on Helena Blavatsky's The Voice of the Silence.
Interpretations and Lore
• Occult & Alien Theories: Later occultists, such as Kenneth Grant and the Cult of Lam, reinterpreted Lam as a trans-Plutonian entity, an outer-space intelligence, or a portal to non-human entities.
• Pop Culture: The distinct portrait predates and heavily influenced modern pop-culture depictions of "gray aliens" and UFO abductee descriptions.
