Fantasy surreal art, magical realism. Candyman, the Creeper and Mothman sit at a table on the outdoor deck of a bar in the middle of a mangrove forest in Florida at night. The veranda is made of old boards and overgrown with poison ivy and moss, and garlands of old light bulbs hang above it. Candyman is completely covered in a layer of bees, the Creeper in leather cast-offs picks his teeth with a toothpick, and Mothman in a bright Hawaiian shirt combs the hairs on his antennae. In front of each of them is a cup in the shape of a skull filled with mead. In the center of the table is a large Edison table lamp in a mushroom stand. A curvy voodoo priestess waitress walks past the table with a tray on which stands a bottle of beer. The eyes of crocodiles glow from the water at the edge of the veranda. In the hot, humid air there hangs the anticipation of an approaching thunderstorm and a shower of miracles. It’s night outside, the moon is waxing in the sky, and a cloud tsunami is approaching from the east. Excellent composition, contrasts of light and shadow, rich colors, crisp quality, masterpiece.
