Jeweled Monarch in Stained Glass

More about Jeweled Monarch in Stained Glass

An oil painting of a monarch butterfly with ornate, jeweled wings, detailed with red, brown, and golden hues, its body at the center of the canvas. The butterfly’s wings are adorned with golden flower-like patterns, purple and teal sections, and circular red gem-like ornaments. Its antennae are thin and upright, reaching towards a bright, golden light at the top center of the canvas. The background is a rich tapestry of deep purple, olive green, and brown foliage, with swirling vines, small red and pink flowers, and leaves. The overall style resembles a stained-glass mosaic or cloisonné, with bold outlines and a textured, impasto finish. The light source comes from behind the butterfly, creating a glowing effect. The painting is signed in the bottom right corner.
