Poem That Tells Its Story Moon Boat Beneath the Listening Branch She drifts where the dark water forgets to move, a quiet woman under a round white moon. Her red boat holds the hush like a small secret, while her long blue dress spills downward into light. Above her, a flowering branch leans through the night, threaded with pale blossoms and ember-red leaves. Small birds rise like loosened thoughts from sleep, crossing the black air without a sound. She does not row. She lets the silence carry her. The lake remembers every color it touches and gives them back in trembling blue and copper. Moonlight gathers on her hands, her hair, her stillness. Here the world is made of waiting and reflection, of beauty that arrives softly and does not ask. She sits between departure and belonging, while flowers bend low as if to understand. And in that tender darkness, calm and deep, the heart becomes its own small lantern.
