The disciples were given "fiery" eloquence to preach the gospel to all nations
The disciples were granted the ability to speak in a variety of languages
There is one Spirit that gives many gifts
The flames also represent the Holy Spirit filling the apostles with enthusiasm, replacing their fear with the courage to share Christ's story-

What does the fire of the Holy Spirit mean?
What does it mean to be baptized with the fire of the Holy Spirit? When the Holy Spirit comes he sets our hearts on fire with the love of Jesus Christ. Paul the Apostle tells us that, “God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us”. (Romans 5:5).
