A young woman in a vintage outfit gathers oranges in a rustic wooden interior, surrounded by baskets of fruit and soft evening light streaming through a window, evoking a serene, nostalgic atmosphere. This picture began with an old painting of some barrels and other things related to food. Over three generations it comes up with this, which is like a lot of 19th century paintings and photographs of peasants or tribal people doing ordinary things while dressed up to the nines in, as we say, their Sunday best. Why there are oranges in a bird cage I can only speculate. The only thing I can add is that the arms are too long and thin, but it is a largely naturalistic image with a quite convincing chiaroscuro effect of the sunset in the southwest in midwinter which suggests that it is cold in that store room.
