Further off, the barking of a dog,
Earthy and raw.
A nasty piece of work, by the sound of him.
He’s losing, the brute,
To the softness of birdsong
That wraps around me.

They take me upward,
Lending me their wings.
Nothing but dreaming beyond the horizon.
