ArtistCreate a vertical painting in Churrigueresque Psychosomatic Magicalism: an elaborate vortex of interlocking dream faces spiralling inward toward an impossibly deep central aperture. Giant almond eyes, hooked noses, turquoise pupils and curling mouths emerge from baroque foliage, then dissolve into smaller versions of themselves. Each face becomes the architecture of another consciousness, repeating through an Escher-like recursive dream. Use sumptuous deep plum, luminous turquoise, blazing magma orange, charcoal, basalt black and smoky ash grey. Bold black ribbons weave through the composition as curved lattices, bending around faces and threading through ornamental scrollwork. Fill the surface with intricate, evolving detail—horror vacui, extravagant Churrigueresque flourishes, miniature masks and organic arabesques. Make emotion physically reshape the ornament: anxiety tightens the lattice, wonder opens luminous eyes, memory curls into tendrils. Preserve visible painterly strokes, chalky highlights, velvety shadows and layered pigment. Balance the immense foreground faces with increasingly tiny forms disappearing into the centre. The atmosphere is hypnotic, mischievous, intimate and unsettling, as though the painting is dreaming its observer. Edge-to-edge composition. No text, letters, numbers, captions or borders.
Man,
the wallpaper grew eyes
and caught me borrowing eternity.
Orange fire,
turquoise saxophone,
purple midnight rolling its own shadows—
every curl another street
where my name forgot its address.
I went looking for the centre.
Found a little black hole
with no cover charge.
Around it,
a thousand eyelids stayed open,
waiting for somebody
to finish the solo.
I emptied my pockets:
two coins,
a bus ticket,
one respectable explanation.
The explanation burned blue.
Somewhere a drummer dropped a stick.
I bent to pick it up
and fell through another eye.
