They argued on romance with melodrama and bite, Then argued some more till the stars lost their light. At last they collapsed in a dramatic heap, Two furious cluckers, both failing to sleep. Morning found them snuggling—begrudging, then true— Two angry gay chickens with a shared point of view. Now they rant in chorus, still theatrical and bold, But they’re furious together, and together they’re gold.
