ArtistA flat-screen TV. Peering over the top of the TV is a beautiful purple-haired woman wearing a long purple velvet ankle-length dress with flouncy sleeves and purple suede high heels. She is holding a remote.
Yet another use for ::SHE+ILA:: -- trained on the audio stream from my TV, ::SHE+ILA:: can send a ^H ($08) to the remote control port, to change to the previous channel every time an advert comes on. Currently just a thought experiment, but if an FSM can be trained to do pattern recognition, then it can produce an output transition when the audio atmosphere changes (e.g. advert music or change of voice / cadence) and simulate my TV remote control to get rid of them :)
A Rhetorex or Dialogic card does a similar function for voicemail use cases, by recognising the voice envelope by means of a DSP chip. (Yes, I had a multi-line voice-based adventure game running in the mid-'90's using a Dialogic D40 telephony card and a BT megastream (?) line on an 0898 telephone number. No, it wasn't Wanderland, but something rather naughtier, hehehe :) )
