Florine the Flyer, a restless woman with an almost wild gleam in her eyes, can’t stand being cooped up in her small apartment when the storm hits the city. The walls vibrate with the distant thunder, and the lights flicker as if they might give out at any moment. Her heart races as she watches the urban chaos through the window: neon signs crackling, bags and papers swirling in the air, sirens lost in the wind. The air outside is a constant roar, a mix of rain, metal, and furious wind. Then she feels it: a clear impulse, a need to escape, to move, to not stay still. Freedom pounds against her chest. Without thinking, she steps outside. The city is a whirlwind of water and shadows, but to Florine it is pure life. She stands facing the storm, her clothes flapping violently, as if the city itself wanted to tear her from the ground. Every flash of lightning that cuts through the sky between buildings is a sign, a promise of something beyond this broken world. The wind pushes her, drags her through empty streets and creaking structures. And yet, she feels alive, more than ever. Her breath mingles with the pulse of the storm, with the electric rhythm of the city. For a moment, there is no difference between her and her surroundings. But in the midst of that fury, danger is there, close by, brushing against her. Because even the bravest cannot ignore the force of a world unleashed. Even so, in this moment, Florine does not stop.
