A white egret with striking yellow breeding plumes on its back and partially on its wings is captured in mid-flight from a side view against a blurred natural green background. The bird's body and underwings are pristine white, contrasting with its bright yellow back plumes and some yellow on the top of its wings, which are spread wide as if in the act of landing or taking off. Its legs, bent and extended slightly backward, are black with yellow-orange upper portions, and its feet are black. The egret's head is angled downwards, with white plumage, a yellow and blue beak, and a yellow eye. The background consists of out-of-focus green foliage and tree branches, with hints of a dark green, possibly watery, area at the bottom.
