In a valley of dry bones, oh so still,
The prophet Ezekiel heard God's will,
"Son of man, can these bones live again?"
He asked Ezekiel, who could not feign.
The prophet answered, "Only you know,
Lord, whether these bones can grow."
So God told Ezekiel to prophesy,
And the bones came together, by and by.
Muscles and flesh grew on the bones,
But they still lay there, like lifeless stones,
Until the Lord breathed into them breath,
And they stood up, a vast army, no less.
The bones, a symbol of Israel's despair,
Were given new life, beyond compare,
For the Lord promised to restore their land,
And bring His people back, by His mighty hand.
So let us remember, in times of doubt,
That the Lord can bring life from the drought,
And just as He brought the bones to life,
He can revive us, and end our strife.
