An oil painting shows a vertical landscape where a towering active volcano erupts into an apocalyptic crimson and fiery-orange sky filled with billowing dark grey and white clouds. A jagged streak of white lightning connects the churning sky with the massive white plumes erupting from the top of the volcano on the right side. The base of the volcano is flanked by turbulent waves of white seafoam crashing against its dark, rocky shore. In the background, rolling dark mountains meet the glowing red horizon under layers of heavy, dark clouds. Palm fronds frame the left upper and lower corners, adding a sense of foreground depth.
