ArtistNaive young Alice stumbles wide-eyed down a nightmarishly trippy rabbit hole leading to a terrifying wonderland. The path is lined with amanita mushrooms which are almost as big as Alice and she gawks at them as she runs headlong into a nightmarishly strange adventure. In the style of an old comic book or the cover of a horror movie.
Alice in Horrorland is a comic book whose plot loosely follows that of the similarly named classic by Lewis Carroll, but it is also a metaphorically autobiographical account of my own nightmare trip down the rabbit-hole of addiction and mental illness.
Volume two, entitled 'Through the Broken Glass' is already underway. In the second book "Alice" discovers that the only thing more harrowing than addiction is recovery. "Even if she somehow wins her battle against addiction, she knows that the stigma will never go away"
