A loose, expressive botanical watercolor painting of a single stem of pink Japanese Autumn Anemone (Anemone hupehensis). Painted in a rough, unfussy style with bold wet-on-wet brushstrokes and subtle pigment granulations. The background is completely blank, showcasing the heavy texture of raw, off-white 300gsm cold-pressed watercolor paper with visible deckled edges. Soft, natural studio light highlighting the paper grain, minimalist composition, artistic and spontaneous --ar 4:5
A watercolor painting of a large, soft light purple peony in full bloom, angled upward and to the right, against a light gray and blue-grey mottled watercolor background. The flower's petals are delicate and translucent, showing layers of light purple, lavender, and faint pink, with some edges curled slightly. The center of the flower reveals a vibrant cluster of bright yellow stamens surrounded by a ring of deep purple, almost magenta, staminodes. The flower is held aloft by a thick, slightly curved green stem that rises from the lower left. To the left of the stem, a dark green, deeply lobed leaf with jagged edges and lighter veins is painted with soft watercolor washes, with some dark blue tones bleeding into it near the bottom. The entire painting has a gentle, flowing quality with soft edges and visible watercolor texture, especially in the background and the shading of the petals. In the lower right corner, there is a faint artist signature in a cursive script.
