The 1980s dance club scene, with its pulsating music and neon-tinged atmosphere, was propelled by trendy electro-pop tunes. The clubs had a vibrant energy that permeated the floor as crowds of people danced and partied until the early hours of the morning. People would dress up in bold colors or flashy outfits, perhaps taking inspiration from Michael Jackson’s iconic fashion sense. Body movements were highly choreographed - this was an era of breakdancing, popping and locking to express oneself through movement. The decade's most recognizable songs often formed a backdrop to these visual displays - ‘Billie Jean’ by Michael Jackson a favorite amongst many! With such an ever evolving repertoire of styles and sounds, it is no surprise that this era saw huge figures flocking to nightclubs around the world every weekend.
