He longs for love, a gentle touch, To heal the wounds that hurt so much, But for now, he plays his part, With a heavy heart, a broken heart. So, as he leaves the stage each night, The mask comes off, revealing the plight, A sad, sad clown, with tears that flow, A lonely heart, with nowhere to go.
