A full shot painting shows a dark scene depicting a Battle of Tsaritsyn between Red Army soldiers and a horde of White Army in a port on the Volga River. In the foreground, a group of Red Army soldiers wearing grey uniforms and red stars on their helmets are in a trench, fighting off the White Army soldiers. The soldier on the far left holds a hammer in his right hand. The soldier behind him holds a tattered red flag in his left hand and a grenade in his right hand. The soldier in the front center and the soldier behind him aim their rifles at the enemies. Sparks fly from the barrels of their guns as they fire. The White Army horde stands in the distance, ready to attack. Behind the soldiers is a large machine with a large hammer on top and gears on the sides. In the background, a large industrial factory burns with bright orange flames, sending thick, dark smoke into the grey sky. The ground is littered with rubble, barbed wire, and debris. The lighting is dark and moody, with the only sources of light coming from the fires and the gunfire.
