More about Poem: The Love of Grammar (Gr'amour)

Oh how my cold heart warms
When reading a written sheet,
Where logical thoughts are presented
In format correct and complete.
That peculiar shortness of breath
When subject and verb agree.
The increase in heart rate inspired
By the correct use of "I" and "me".
The tender gasp of wonder
At the comma that's well placed.
The respirations amplified
By text, correctly bold-faced.
The oxytocin rush to the brain
When words are correctly spelled;
Apostrophes placed in possessive terms
And the rules of grammar upheld!
Would that my heart took flight more oft
But the world just doesn't care
About spelling or punctuation,
Or whether their "they're" is there.

La traduction de la dernière ligne n'a peut-être pas de sens pour toi. En anglais, les mots pour « leur », « ils sont » et « là » s'écrivent différemment, mais se prononcent tous de la même manière (T͟Her), ce qui explique qu'ils soient souvent mal utilisés.
