ArtistA gigantic fluffy smoky-gray Maine Coon cat lies in the middle of a crowded 1930s New York street, playfully reaching one enormous paw toward a huge red ball of yarn. Dozens of anthropomorphic mice are desperately rolling the giant yarn ball toward the cat, pulling ropes and pushing it together. The yarn is already unwinding across the wet street. A vintage New York police car is stopped beside them. Two mouse policemen in black 1930s police uniforms have stepped out; one stops traffic while the other stares at the giant cat. A chubby elderly gray mouse holding a large piece of cheese has stopped to watch. A vintage city bus is stopped in traffic nearby. Different mice passengers crowd the windows: children pointing excitedly, adults looking worried, one mouse leaning out of the door, the driver turning around to look at the cat. The entire street is crowded with different mice: workers, businessmen, women, children, street vendors, newspaper sellers and pedestrians. Some stare at the cat, some run toward the spectacle, others continue going about their business. Mice watch from apartment windows and fire escapes. Vintage cars are stopped in traffic. 1930s New York City, Art Deco skyscrapers, brick buildings, fire escapes, water towers, old street lamps, steam rising from manholes, wet pavement, dense urban atmosphere. Strong foreground, middle ground and background, lively street scene, humorous giant-scale situation.
