"Peccato Originale" di Tintoretto
A high-quality devotional painting from the Baroque period depicts a large gathering of distressed people around a fair, pale woman with white skin and red nipples, wearing a gold and white hair ornament, lying nude but for a small bit of white drapery around her hips and a bit of blue drapery at the bottom right corner of the painting on a dark wooden slab in the center middle and right of the frame, with her body pointing towards the lower middle part of the frame, and her head tilted up towards the light, with her eyes looking up to the sky. Behind her are two bearded men gazing intently at her. Above them are two other men, one bearded and looking down, and the other bald with his head turned towards the scene, to the middle right of the frame. The woman’s skin is detailed with veins, her pubic hair is light brown, and her hands are clasped together at her chest, with rings on her fingers. To the left side of the frame, a haloed Jesus or similar holy figure with shoulder-length dark brown hair and a dark beard is portrayed.
