ArtistThree way deadlock, delicate slug eggs atop chestnuts after a stormy day, a woman in intricate fall kimono with toad and snake. Japanese folklore
A stormy autumn day
The rain brought the remaining chestnuts (kuri in Japanese) down over the past week. Making Kuri Kinton by the time the chestnuts cure. Many were splendid, yet fewer than normal years. There was heat while the local trees blossomed on July 4th that shut down historic events. The prices have soared. Yet the slugs found refuge to leave eggs, that bring toads and frogs, that bring snakes...and so on. Folkloric. The way of life and water, how it prepares the way for more life. While we move on.
