This painting is a masterpiece of abstract aesthetic impressionism; it is executed entirely in the "soft glass impasto" technique, using liquid transparent glass in various shades. The subject of the painting is a tornado over a flooded desert. Waters are raging and horses are running away
Pray for us here in Northern New Mexico and surrounding Four Corners Area of the United States. Flooding is unprecedented at this moment.
An oil painting, a high-angle shot captures a powerful tornado churning turbulent waters with four horses fleeing from it to the right. The tornado swirls down from the sky, its funnel composed of gray-blue, white, and golden brushstrokes, with a jagged bolt of lightning flashing through it. Below, the water is a chaotic mix of deep blue and white foam, churned into high, choppy waves by the storm. In the foreground, four horses—a white one, a brown one, a dark gray one, and another brown one—gallop through the shallows, their manes flowing in the wind as they escape the rising tide. The background is a stark contrast, with a desolate, golden-brown landscape under a dramatic sky, rendered in thick, expressive impasto brushstrokes that give the entire scene a sense of immense energy and movement.
