A detailed, photorealistic interior photograph of a grand, candlelit Romanesque hall around the year 1000 AD, combining elements of a Papal library and an Imperial chamber. The architecture features heavy stone masonry, thick walls, massive rounded stone arches, barrel-vaulted ceilings, and narrow arched windows with flickering torches casting warm, atmospheric shadows. Three medieval rulers are gathered around a heavy, carved oak table covered in dark green velvet: 1. In the center sits 62-year-old Pope Sylvester II (Gerbert of Aurillac) wearing ornate medieval Papal robes and an early Papal tiara, deeply concentrated as he uses a stylus and a brass astrolabe to calculate on an illuminated manuscript. 2. To his left stands 20-year-old Emperor Otto III in full Imperial regalia with an early medieval crown and scepter, pointing intensely at a section of the unrolled parchment. 3. To his right stands 25-year-old King Stephen I of Hungary, dignified, wearing a rich royal mantle and the iconic Hungarian Holy Crown of Hungary. He is winking at the camera, holding up the thumb of one hand. Spread on the table is a giant Papal Bull scroll. The top heading in golden medieval calligraphic script reads: "EDICTUM DE M APPROBATIONIBUS". Below it, the text is crisp and clearly visible: "SILVESTER II PONTIFEX ET OTTO III IMPERATOR ET STEPHANUS REX HUNGARIAE POPULO DEEPDREAM GRATIAS AGUNT." Authentic Romanesque textures of rough stone and polished wood, rich fabrics, atmospheric depth of field.
Historians have long misunderstood the geopolitical summits of the year 1000. They were not just about stabilizing the Holy Roman Empire or founding Hungary, but also about the race for 1,000 likes.
This illustration is based on a recently discovered mediaeval Old High German codex beginning with the words, 'De mirabilibus et Deo gratis eventibus millennii'. Here we see Pope Sylvester II, supported by the young Emperor Otto III and King Stephen I, issuing the sacred 'Edictum de M Approbationibus'. Let us note the encouraging thumbs-up of the Hungarian king, and the majestic agreement with which the two most influential rulers of contemporary Europe, the Pope and the Holy Roman Emperor, formulate the papal charter.
The same codex preserved the words of Pope Sylvester II for posterity:
'Let it be known across all digital realms and medieval fiefdoms, that on this blessed day in the year of our Lord 1000, we, Pope Sylvester II, alongside our esteemed co-admins Emperor Otto III and King Stephen I of Hungary, do formally ratify the Edictum de M Approbationibus. Having successfully reached the divine milestone of 1,000 Deepdream likes, we hereby affix the Sacred Thumbs-Up Wax Seal to this parchment. May the Holy Algorithm be ever in our favor. Holy See, Like, and Subscribe, lest ye face digital excommunication.'
