A vibrant, abstract scene featuring colorful geometric shapes, tubes, and various mechanical elements against a stylized landscape, blending artistry with a sense of playful ingenuity. Note: This is not really an abstraction but a surrealist image. This comes from Picabia and my Jr High teacher, Mrs. Bonnell would have just said, "Oh, isn't that fun?" I came to understand that in a place like the Chicago Art Institute where the aesthetes were inclined to be serious, this was an important observation. Incidentally she knew that art institute well because as a student there in the thirties she had job of sanding and polishing the stairs.
