Four people have died and more than 60 injured as six compartments of the 12506 Anand Vihar Terminal-Kamakhya Northeast Express derailed at Raghunathpur station in Buxa district of Bihar late of October 11.
In a bulletin on X (formerly Twitter), the Eastern Central Railways wrote that a relief train has departed from Raghunathpur with stranded passengers of the train.
The Northeast Express had set out from the Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi and was on its way to the Kamakhya Junction in Assam’s Guwahati. The derailment of the six compartments took place at 9.53 pm.
India Today has reported that at least two air-conditioned three-tier coaches toppled over while four others jumped the tracks.
According to Indian Express, three of Patna’s biggest hospitals – Patna Medical College and Hospital, Nalanda Medical College and Hospital and Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences – have been put on alert.
