"Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans." Intricately detailed Mixed media painting on cracked aged canvas. Enigmatic city, landscape, whimsical creatures. Surreal, whimsical, contemporary abstract textured oil painting.
Inspiration and prompt by Susanne
An oil painting of a whimsical, fantastic city at night with towering, narrow buildings with spires and various window shapes. The sky is dark and textured with white swirling lines, resembling constellations, and scattered with celestial bodies including various moons and planets, some glowing. In the center, a large orange sphere floats low near the street. The wide, curving street is made of light-colored cobblestones with tram tracks running down the middle, receding into a vanishing point. Small figures of pedestrians and old-fashioned buses are scattered along the sidewalks and streets, giving a sense of scale. The color palette includes muted blues, tans, rust orange, and gold, with warm lights glowing from windows and streetlamps.
