More about The Cowboy in Me - Poem

I'm just a cowboy in this world of steel and glass,
A relic from a time long past,
I've seen the cities grow and rise,
And watched the stars fade from the skies.
I've ridden on the winds of change,
And seen the seasons rearrange,
But through it all I've stayed the same,
A cowboy with a heart of flame.
My boots are worn, my hat is old,
My stories have been told and retold,
I've ridden herds across the plains,
And watched the sun rise through the rains.
I've seen the beauty of this land,
And held the world within my hand,
But now it seems I'm out of place,
A cowboy in this modern race.
Yet still I ride with head held high,
And watch the world go rushing by,
For in my heart I know the truth,
That I'm a cowboy through and through.
So let the cities rise and grow,
Let progress take its steady flow,
For in my soul I'll always be,
The cowboy that was meant to be.
