Two Franciscans in brown robes, sit in a small wooden boat on a serene lake surrounded by tall green reeds and white water lilies, under a clear sky. The Franciscan on the left, with a light brown beard and mustache, points a finger up, seemingly addressing the Franciscan on the right, who appears older and listens intently. The lake's clear water reveals several golden fish swimming near the boat, with one bare foot of the left Franciscan submerged in the water. In the background, majestic mountains rise, their peaks shrouded in a light mist, beneath a pale blue sky.
Note: Saint Anthony of Padua was frustrated because people didn't listen to him so he turned away from them and spoke to the fishes in the lake. They,, so the story goes, listened to him. This is indirectly related to the story of St Francis (not pictured here) who spoke to the birds.
