The First Vision:
In 1820, Joseph Smith, seeking guidance on which church to join, prayed in a grove near his home in Palmyra, New York, and experienced a vision where God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him, instructing him not to join any of the existing churches and that God would restore His true church through him.
Restoration of the Priesthood:
