Victorian lady wears a corset. Although they did not cause as many deaths and fainting spells as previously believed, corsets were undoubtedly articles of clothing that had an extraordinary impact. Women tightened their corsets so much that they not only restricted their breathing, but also caused muscle atrophy. What's more, they changed the shape of their chest bones and the arrangement of their internal organs with it. This is why the internal organs of women living in the Victorian era looked and were located completely differently than the internal organs of women living today.
