Close-up portrait of a young woman with intense expressive blue eyes, wind-blown purple hair floating around her face, delicate facial features, subtle freckles, soft pink lips. Mixed media illustration style, fusion of fine line ink sketching and loose watercolor washes in lavender, violet, and peach tones. Soft pastel cherry blossom branch in the background. Minimalist white background, painterly textures, elegant composition, high detail, artistic, ethereal mood.
Every spring, she returned to the same cherry tree.
Once upon a time, someone had promised to meet her there when the flowers bloomed again.
The flowers kept their promise.
The person never did.
For years, she thought the blossoms were reminding her of everything she had lost.
But today was different.
A gentle wind caught her hair, and a few pink petals brushed against her cheek. She looked up and noticed how beautiful the afternoon had become.
Nothing had been returned to her.
Nothing had been explained.
Yet somehow, standing beneath those flowers, she felt happy.
Just for a moment.
And she didn't feel guilty about it.
Perhaps this is how we begin to heal. Not by forgetting someone we loved, but by allowing ourselves to love the world again.
*The flowers never asked her to forget. They only invited her to stay a little longer.*
