ArtistKeep as is
Day lifts itself out of the blue wreckage of night.
Cold light warms into copper, then breath.
The islands return from shadow, holding their ground.
Water releases the dark it carried all night
and takes the sun in—quiet, unafraid.
A heron rises—
not the sun itself, but its manner:
the gentle glide of night slipping away.
What was hidden does not speak of it.
It simply stands again,
outlined in fire,
as if nothing was ever lost.
