A striking cubist-style painting depicts a central figure composed of geometric shapes in shades of gold, white, red, and black, against a background divided into vertical and horizontal bands of solid gold, red, and black. The figure, possibly a man, is mid-stride or in a dynamic pose, with abstract facial features tilted towards the left profile, wearing a light yellow cap.

The composition is symmetrical on the vertical axis, with strong motifs of warfare and struggle. Two large, pointed blades resembling spearheads are positioned vertically on either side of the central figure, their hilts and guards suggesting they are also swords. These appear to pierce through horizontal strands of barbed wire that stretch across the entire width of the painting.

Behind the central figure, in the upper and lower central portions, are circular medallions with golden rings and central stars, also in gold and lighter yellow hues, against a red inner circle. Four military helmets, possibly German Stahlhelm, are depicted symmetrically in the corners of the painting, two in the upper left and right, and two in the lower left and right. Each helmet appears to be worn by an abstracted, geometric head in dark red or black.
