A painting in the style of JMW Turner of a decommissioned early 19th century battleship being towed away from London down the Thames by a pair of tug boats. The ship is in a state of disrepair, with broken masts and lenghts of rigging and ropes hanging from the yards. The skyline of Victorian London are just visible through the heavy mist, which envelops the scene suggesting a winter landscape. The sun, low in the sky can just be made out through the haze, which is tinted with sunrise colours catching the battleship's outline with a splash of colour. The overall scene is sombre and impressionistic. Turner, Aquarelle, wet on wet.
Been working on my Turner Effects.
