"Chiens perdus sans collier" (Lost Dogs Without Collar) is a French novel by Gilbert Cesbron, published in 1954. In his story, the author movingly evokes the fate of children who commit crimes and who, from disadvantaged backgrounds, are helped by a juvenile court judge and the staff of a foster home devoted body and soul to their work.
The novel was a huge bestseller in the 1950s and 1960s, with approximately four million copies sold.
