A surreal, whimsical painting of an eccentric "flower-power" Hippie grandma—featuring elongated shapes and exaggerated proportions—sitting in a nail studio while a quirky nail technician creature works on her nails. Her cat is sitting beside her, getting its claws embellished, too. Wall posters and objects bear thematically appropriate text in the "Nosferatu" font. Humorous picture-book aesthetic. The main figures must be fully visible within the frame, from head to toe; no cropping. No signature, no borders.
Tonight, at that nail studio (it's only open at night, naturally), I met the sister of the punky acquaintance I’d seen at the hair salon. She told me that, since the "flower power" days seem to be over for good, it's time to prepare for challenging times ☻—feeling it’s more appropriate for her age.
Nosferatu’s nail studio seemed like the right place to start this image makeover. We discovered that his brother also runs a chic boutique in a rather odd suburb of the city. Maybe I’ll check that out sometime, too.
