Shortly afterwards, Janet misses her step and falls in. Surprisingly, the water is quite warm for the time of year. She grabs Julia's leg to steady herself. Julia screams as she herself topples in, totally drenched through, her expensive fur coat swirling around her as she sinks into the surprisingly warm water. As there is nobody around, they take the opportunity to do what they usually do in situations like this. Hint: they are married (to each other). As they twirl around and dance together underwater, they notice a submerged UFO, with mermaids swimming around it. Before they run out of breath, Janet and Julia put on their "Captain Jill Darkness oxygen-extracting noseclips" (see the original Janet and Julia story forum), and swim into the UFO (yes, in those boots, and without getting painful blisters on their feet, ouch lol). Mermaid Wanda, swimming in her multicoloured tie-dye kaftan, shouts (or glugs?), "Hippy Squishmas, Janet and Julia! Glad you dropped in! We kept the lake warm for you with our Fusion power (lol)". And Janet and Julia teleported into their underwater dance sphere (see original Janet and Julia story forum -- maybe you'll find its remnants on Wayback Machine(?) if entropy hasn't fragged it too much) and enjoyed the spontaneous Squishmas Pool Party, along with all the original characters : Sheila, Laura, Emilie, Eleanore, Alexandra, Valerie, Sairandhri, Tamis, and Marianne, whose essences are still out there in Cyberspace somewhere...
