A group of young women in a cozy room, dressed in 19th-century clothing, engage in various activities—sewing, reading, and organizing. The room is adorned with paintings and letters, creating a warm atmosphere. Note: It is not at all clear to me what the original nineteenth century painting was about except that it seemed to be a gathering of women in a perhaps candle lit interior. This is a gathering in somewhat the style of Hopper with similar obscure activities.
